At SAIC, students have a unique opportunity to explore writing both within and between genres, and to creatively connect with visual art practices throughout SAIC.
We welcome students from all programs across SAIC’s diverse, interdisciplinary community who wish to pursue writing as part of their education and creative practice.
In addition to developing distinct literary work, the interdisciplinary emphasis of the school galvanizes students to form collectives, small presses, storefront galleries, and theater groups that enrich the local, national, and international literary landscapes.
The Writing Program draws on a distinguished core faculty with diverse artistic and intellectual concerns and a vibrant program of visiting writers and artists. Our wildly creative curriculum encourages exploration of the possibilities of hybrid work, new forms and collaborative projects.
