Before Art and Technology Studies at SAIC became what it is today, the department took the form of two previous programs: Kinetics and Generative Systems.

In 2021, a piece of artwork sold for $69.3 million dollars at Christie’s—the third-highest price ever realized by a living artist at auction. BODIES, curated by Lecturer Megan Euker, highlights the medical device design work of SAIC’s Intro to Designed Objects students. The exhibition is on display at the International Museum of Surgical Science.
