Registration and payment are accepted online! Continuing Studies accepts credit cards (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa).

Students in the Early College Program are expected to adhere to the Student Rights and Responsibilities-Early College Program.

A 100 percent tuition refund will be issued if courses are dropped at least one week prior to the session start date. No refunds will be issued after this date. All requests must be submitted in writing to cs@saic.edu and include the student’s name, ID number, and course information. Refunds take four to six weeks to process. Note: Nonattendance does not constitute an official withdrawal, nor a cancellation of tuition and fees.

Continuing Studies reserves the right to cancel or alter the fees, schedule, or staffing of courses when circumstances warrant. If a cancellation or change is necessary, students will be notified prior to the first class, and students enrolled in canceled courses will have the option of taking another class or receiving a full refund. Note: Courses with low enrollment may be canceled a week or more prior to the start date, thus early registration is encouraged.

If you are interested in registering for a course that is full, we encourage you to add yourself to the wait list by filling out the wait list form attached to the individual course online. We will try to notify you if a spot becomes available in your preferred course for purchase online.

Students enrolled for credit in the Early College Program are expected to attend all classes at the scheduled time, arrive prepared, and successfully complete all assignments. Students with more than two unexcused absences or who do not complete assignments may not receive credit for a course. SAIC functions under a credit (CR)/no credit (NCR) grading system. Multiple absences or habitual tardiness for students taking audited classes will not be tolerated and may prevent participation.

Supplies are the responsibility of the student. While the Early College Program will provide some basic materials, students will receive a supply list on the first day of class; the student must obtain the items on this list. The cost of supplies varies by course, and can range from $50–$200. Note: Figure Drawing, Figure Painting, Painting, and Drawing courses may use nude models hired by the School. Other classes may use them to a lesser degree.

Juniors and seniors, ages 15 to 18, have the option to enroll for credit. Students enrolled in an ECP course for credit will be eligible to receive one college credit upon successful completion. This credit may be applied towards an undergraduate degree at most colleges or universities. Noncredit students will not be eligible to receive college credit. Students enrolled for credit are expected to attend all classes at the scheduled time, arrive prepared, and successfully complete all homework and assignments.

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is committed to providing opportunities for full participation in all programs for students with disabilities, including Continuing Studies students and Students At Large.
