FULLY IN-PERSON & MODIFIED IN-PERSON:

For all degree-seeking students, graduate and undergraduate, summer registration opens at the same time: 8:30am on Monday, March 15, 2021. Students are encouraged to register promptly as there are not spaced-out enrollment windows for different groups.

SAIC’s summer is broken up into three-week segments. The vast majority of options will be three-week intensives, where you will have class each day. A small number of classes will utilize a more extended six-week structure, spreading out across two three-week sessions. Given the different meeting patterns, it will be very difficult to enroll in both a three-week class and a six-week class at the same time.

Sessions:

  • 3-Week 1 (3W1): June 1 - June 17
  • 6-Week 1 (6W1): June 1 - July 9
  • 3-Week 2 (3W2): June 21 - July 9
  • 3-Week 3 (3W3): July 12 - July 30
  • 6-Week 2 (6W2): July 12 - August 20
  • 3-Week 4 (3W4): August 2 - August 20

The cost of summer courses is the same as fall or spring options per credit hour. Students taking six or more credits are eligible to apply any merit or need-based aid you have received toward that tuition amount. Contact the office of Student Financial Services to review your financial aid and summer eligibility.

No. You may feel free to live in off-campus housing in Chicago. You may choose to continue to live off-campus in the fall, or choose to live on-campus if you sign up to do so.

All students will be living in either the 162 N. State Street Residences or Jones Hall.

If you sign up to live on-campus for the 21/22 academic year, Residence Life will make your fall housing placement based on the housing preferences listed in your housing application, this process does not integrate with summer housing. Students will be able to relocate to their academic year room assignment prior to the start of the Fall 2021 semester.

The final summer sessions conclude on Friday, August 20, and the Fall 2021 semester is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 1. In the interim, students will have time to rest, prepare, and further enjoy summer in Chicago.
