Historic Preservation Faculty Richard F. Friedman Selected for National Preservation Lawyers Network Advisory Board
Richard F. Friedman was selected to serve on the Advisory Board of the National Preservation Lawyers Network. The Advisory Board meets throughout the year and will gather at the National Historic Preservation Law Conference in Washington, DC in October, 2026. Mr. Friedman teaches Historic Preservation Advocacy, Law and Ethics in the SAIC AIADO masters degree and Historic Preservation Certificate programs.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States established a national network of preservation lawyers to help people identify and access lawyers who may be able to assist them when the historic places in their communities are threatened or in need of rehabilitation, and to support these lawyers in this work. Lawyers enable the American people to protect, preserve, and reuse the historic places in their communities. The purpose of the National Preservation Lawyers Network will be to identify and solicit lawyers throughout the United States who practice in the area of preservation to represent clients on preservation legal matters. The Network will be committed to promoting education within the preservation law community through the sharing of information and by connecting preservation attorneys to each other, to the National Trust, and to the public.
