February 2026: Faculty and Staff Accomplishments

Professor, Adj. William Harper had three works featured at the Sierra International Film Weekend in Bolivia: an animation, When the Whale Spoke; a music video, Forlana; and an experimental short film, Three Dreams.

Associate Professor Salvador Jimenez appeared at The Met for the museum’s “Met Expert Talks en español—El misterio de las figurillas huésped” event on January 15. He is also part of a two-person exhibition, Myth & Kinship, at Kates Ferri Projects in New York, up through February 21.  

Professor Sara Levine released her latest novel, The Hitch, on January 13. The book was reviewed by People Magazine, NPR, and the New York Times, and Levine was profiled by the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Review of Books. She also published “7 Novels About Women Who Lose the Plot” on Electric Lit.

Lecturer Frances Lightbound is part of a two-person exhibition, Embodied Traces: Mapping Memory and Material at The Gallery at A + C in Skokie, IL. Also featuring artist Myungah Hyon, the exhibition features works in paper, ceramics, print, and architecture to explore connections between materiality, memory, and perception.

Associate Professor, Adj. Lorraine Peltz's painting, Night Garden, is included in Art Works Chicago: 20th Anniversary Exhibition, highlighting two decades of celebrated Chicago artists participation in this historic venue's curated exhibitions.

Professor David Raskin published three ekphrastic prose poems in New World Writing Quarterly and the article "What is there to Beautify? The Paintings of Olive Ahyens" in Lana Turner: a journal of poetry and opinion, where he also served as guest art editor.
