The Chicago Tribune Profiles Dmitry Samarov

Dmitry Samarov (BFA 1993) was recently profiled in the Chicago TribuneThe article discusses the artist's journey to publishing his three books, the latest of which Music to My Eyes is a collection of drawings and writing on musical performers. It wasn't until Samarov added accompanying stories to his sketches of performers that his "musical art" got picked up by local publisher, Tortoise Books. Founder of Tortoise Books, Jerry Brennan, says to the Tribune “Dmitry’s book is a lovely visual and textual look at these specific bands and venues that also touches on larger and more universal questions about art and effort and commerce.”
