SAIC in North Lawndale

This subcommittee seeks to help deepen SAIC’s long-term collaboration in North Lawndale, ensuring the School’s impact in the neighborhood is beneficial, projects are well supported, and programming is widely understood throughout the campus community. This subcommittee will collaborate closely with the Office of Engagement, particularly those who work in North Lawndale. Outcomes could include new investments and increased understanding of work with partners in Homan Square and neighborhood residents.

Action Items

Reinvestment strategy - Research and audit of all activities to gain understanding of event and program needs and propose action items that seek for sustainable long-term partnerships in North Lawndale that emphasize worth to community, commitment from School, and awareness throughout campus and city.
