Personal Statement

My teaching philosophy centers on guiding students to confidently explore the intersections of technology, science, and design through a balance of conceptual inquiry and hands-on making. I foster a classroom culture rooted in curiosity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary exploration, where students engage with XR, interactive environments, and advanced fabrication tools to bring meaningful ideas to life.

I emphasize the importance of translating abstract concepts—especially in UX and user-centered design—into tangible, relatable experiences, often through hybrid projects that merge digital interaction with traditional media. By framing assignments around themes like Speculative Design or Deconstructed Objects, students are encouraged to challenge norms and connect their work to broader cultural and historical contexts.

Ultimately, I aim to empower students to push boundaries, refine their voice, and develop the technical and conceptual tools needed to shape the future of art and design across disciplines.
