Bio

Michael Lopez (he/him) is a Chicago-based artist and educator working in animation and sculpture. He earned his MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2017) and his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2008). Lopez has exhibited his work in solo shows such as Dealers Choice at Material Gallery (2021) and Final Viewings at Julius Caesar Gallery (2019), and in group exhibitions across Chicago. Previous moving image work has screened at the Chicago Underground Film Festival, Eyeworks, Torino Underground Cinefest, Tacoma Film Festival, Lausanne Underground Film & Music Festival, and WNDX Moving Image Film Festival.
