Bio

Maura Brewer is a video-essayist who makes work about art, money, and crime. Brewer is a Guggenheim fellow, a MacDowell fellow, a recipient of the Creative Capital Award and the Lens Award at LACMA. Her work has been shown at venues including MoMA, Art in General, the MCA and the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, and received press in outlets including Bomb, Hyperallergic and Art in America. Brewer received her BFA from SAIC in 2006, her MFA from UC Irvine in 2011 and was a Whitney ISP fellow in 2015. Brewer is a licensed private investigator in New York.
