The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is pleased to announce the newest lineup of guest speakers for its Visiting Artists Program (VAP), continuing a tradition endowed 60 years ago. VAP hosts two seasons of public presentations by artists and scholars each academic year through lectures, symposia, performances, and screenings.

Chicago, IL—Michelle Grabner, Professor and Chair of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), has been named a curator of the 2014 Whitney Biennial. The most influential survey of the state of contemporary art in the United States, the next Biennial goes on view at the beginning of March 2014 and will be the last Biennial to take place in the museum's historic Marcel Breuer-designed building on Madison Avenue in New York City.

Chicago, IL— Every House Has a Door, the nonprofit performance group created by faculty members Lin Hixson (Performance) and Matthew Goulish (Writing) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), has received a $32,500 grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation International Connections Fund to create and produce a performance derived from materials in the Randolph Street Gallery archives.

Chicago, IL—Dr. Walter E. Massey, President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), will be honored with his wife Shirley on Thursday, October 25 when Morehouse College celebrates the naming of the Walter E. Massey Leadership Center and the Shirley A. Massey Executive Conference Center at a ceremony in Atlanta. Dr. Massey is President Emeritus of Morehouse College—his alma mater, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics at the age of 20 in 1958—in addition to serving as SAIC President.
