Tom Buechele Talks about Returning to Art with Crain's
In a recent article in Crain's Chicago Business titled "Back to grad school, for the fun of it," Tom Buechele (BFA 1989, MFA 2017) expressed his reasoning for returning to school for graduate studies. Following graduation with a bachelor's degree in fine arts from SAIC, Buechele expeditiously acquired an academic support position. However his path, like any artist or someone who returns to school years later, may seem unconventional. After becoming a professional and having a family Buechele decided he still wanted to live his life artfully. In an interview with Crain's Chicago Business Buechele explained his desire for returning to school, "I wanted to get my practice going again." He is currently an artist and the vice president of SAIC campus operations.
