Student Lindsay Adams' Artwork Commissioned for Obama Center

Lindsay Adams (MFA 2025) is featured in The Art Newspaper for her commission at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Adams will translate her 2024 painting Weary Blues into silkscreened fabric panels for the Center’s public café area, marking her first time working in screen printing. Her piece invites viewers into a space of color, movement, and quiet reflection, drawing on themes of memory, imagination, and the emotional pull of place and home. The center, located in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood, is scheduled to open in 2026 with more than 20 commissioned artworks in spaces free and open to the public.
