Alum Sofía Fernández Díaz Spotlighted by Artsy

Alum Sofía Fernández Díaz (MFA 2022) was recently highlighted by Artsy. The article covers 10 recent MFA graduates and their emerging art practices. In the article, Fernández Díaz discusses her exploration of ecology and nature, her desire to teach others how to work with organic materials, and the incorporation of video and performance into her craft. “My thesis was completely based on what it means for the body to move in space,” Fernández Díaz shared. “It was an installation, but I didn’t have a lot of space. I definitely think of how to create an immersive experience through materials and elements.”
