SAIC Alums Named 2026 Knight Arts + Tech Fellows

School of the Art Institute of Chicago alums Bow Ty (MFA 2015) and Taeyoon Choi (BFA 2005) have been named 2026 Knight Arts + Tech Fellows by United States Artists. The annual fellowship, supported by the Knight Foundation, awards five artists unrestricted $50,000 grants to advance innovative work across technology and new media. This year’s cohort explores emerging tools including immersive sound and performance and digital fabrication as ways to rethink how technology shapes human connection. As highlighted in the announcement, fellows approach technology not just as a tool but as a social and cultural system, positioning their practices at the forefront of interdisciplinary experimentation.
