SAIC Alums Featured in the Whitney Biennial 2026

School of the Art Institute of Chicago alums Isabelle Frances McGuire (BFA 2016), Young Joon Kwak (BFA 2008), and Zach Blas (Post-Bac 2006) are among the artists featured in the Whitney Biennial 2026 opening March 8. Now in its 82nd edition, the Whitney Biennial is the longest-running survey of contemporary art in the United States and a defining platform for American artists today. This year’s exhibition explores relationality across interspecies kinships, geopolitical entanglements, technological affinities, and shared mythologies, offering an atmospheric portrait of contemporary life shaped by transition, tension, and imagination.
