SAIC Alums Co-Found Community Paper Studio Chicago Pulp

The Chicago Reader spotlighted School of the Art Institute (SAIC) alums Aidan Anne Frierson (MFA 2025) and Dave King (BFA 2025) as co-founders of Chicago Pulp, a new handmade paper studio in Bridgeport dedicated to demystifying an often inaccessible craft. The studio transforms raw plant fibers into handmade paper using entirely manual processes. The Reader highlights Chicago Pulp’s mission to provide professional-grade equipment, classes, and open studio access, creating space for artists and newcomers alike to engage directly with material, labor, and process.
