Assistant Professor Dan Miller is featured in the three-person show Conditions of Encounter. As part of the exhibition, Miller will show the full installation of his Mutual Light project alongside Flexion, an interactive robotic installation made from pneumatic artificial muscles and stretch sensors, and Thermally Coupled, which creates a mechanical life support system for a small piece of frozen landscape.
Assistant Professor Nyeema Morgan has recently been featured in several exhibitions: Mike Cloud & Nyeema Morgan: Story Structure, Pt. 2 at the Neubauer Collegium (through June 28), and take my wife... PLEASE! at PATRON Gallery. Morgan also was interviewed alongside Mike Cloud for Brooklyn Rail and received a 2026 Grant to Artists by the Foundation of Contemporary Arts.
Lecturer Cody Norman’s solo exhibition Becoming is on view through June 7 at the Garfield Park Conservatory. For the show, Norman transformed recycled plastic into sculptural objects that challenge our assumptions about waste and beauty.
Assistant Professor, Adj. Mindy Rose Schwartz’s solo exhibition Countersealed is on view at M. LeBlanc International through May 23. Schwartz uses macramé, ceramics, and other domestic materials to explore ecological anxiety, abuse of power, spiritual disorientation, and more. Schwartz also received a 2026 Chicago Artadia Award.
Assistant Professor Aliza Shvarts gave a talk at Yale University alongside artist Viva Ruiz on the art of reproductive justice. She will also take part in the conversation “After ZIRP: Fiction, Mediation, and the Formation of Subjects” on May 7, hosted by Brooklyn Rail.
