Alum Trevor Paglen Wins 2026 LG Guggenheim Award
School of the Art Institute of Chicago alum Trevor Paglen (MFA 2002) has been named the 2026 recipient of the LG Guggenheim Award, presented by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The $100,000 prize recognizes artists engaging critically with technology. Paglen, known for work exploring surveillance, artificial intelligence, and machine vision, said the award will support the high costs of his research-driven practice. He has spent more than a decade examining how AI reshapes perception, a focus that continues in his upcoming book, How to See Like a Machine: Images After AI.
