Alum Norman Teague (MFA 2016) was recently spotlighted in T Magazine. The article covers Teague’s inspirations, future endeavors, and his time at SAIC. “It was a big deal to go from student to exhibitor,” Teague shared about his Sinmi stool earning a place in the Art Institute of Chicago’s permanent collection.

Teague is currently developing two chairs for Knoll and consulting on furnishings for exhibit galleries at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park. Additionally, he’s serving as an inaugural fellow of Theaster Gates’s (HON 2014) Dorchester Industries Experimental Design Lab, an organization that funds and promotes Black creators.
