Alum Irregular Girl (BFA 2017) was recently spotlighted in Chicago Reader. In the article written by alum Micco Caporale (MA 2018), Irregular Girl discusses trans womanhood, her influence in the LGBTQ+ community, and how her experience at SAIC informs her current practice. “The goal of my drag and creativity is to uplift and inspire others to claim their own narrative,” she shared. “The world around us is really unaccepting and hateful of trans people and people of color, and my focus is to give hope.” Irregular Girl’s upcoming show, That Shit’s Trans: Live!, will be hosted at the Steppenwolf 1700 Theater on July 20.
