Alum Chris Ware Illustrates USPS Stamps

School of the Art Institute of Chicago alum Chris Ware (SAIC 1991–93, HON 2019) has designed a new set of US postage stamps commemorating 250 years of the United States Postal Service. The 20-stamp series, available July 23, follows a postwoman on her daily route through all four seasons—delivering letters, greeting neighbors, and traversing city streets. Each stamp is rendered in Ware’s signature graphic style, forming a quiet narrative when viewed together. The acclaimed illustrator, known for his storytelling through comics and design, co-designed the stamps with art director Antonio Alcalá.
