TEACHING SUSTAINABILITY

At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, we're deep believers in an interdisciplinary curriculum. Our courses encourage students to experiment with and explore other mediums. They delve into critical issues impacting not just artists and designers, but the larger world.

In this video, we spotlight three courses that are tackling climate change: Matter and Material with Lecturer Maya Bird Murphy, Ethics and the Environment with Lecturer David Johnson, and Symbiosis: Creativity as Connectivity with Professor Andrew Yang and Professor Claire Pentecost. Though these courses approach issues of sustainability from different angles, each emphasizes the importance of innovation, reflection, and connection.
