How can I create a library account?

It’s easy, just use the barcode on the back of your ID and your last name to login.

What is I-Share?

I-Share is an Interlibrary Loan network of over 80 academic libraries in Illinois. You can visit these libraries or have items sent to Flaxman for pick-up. Shipping takes 3-5 business days. To request items, sign in with your library account.

Reserves? What's that?

Reserves are books and materials that your instructor has asked the library to set aside for their courses. The materials are library use only and can be checked out for 3 hours at a time. You can use the scanners and/or copiers located within the library to make a PDF or a physical copy.

Find books your faculty put on reserve for your class.

The Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection + Archives sounds cool. Tell me more!

The Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection + Archives house an array of archives, rare films, artists’ publications and other unique materials. Do you want to see that original copy of the Ed Ruscha book you talked about in class? Or maybe you want to check out something by an SAIC Alum like The body, Manifold Publication by Amina Ross. Whatever your needs, stop by the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection + Archives reading Room (Sharp 508) or make an appointment to spend time with some truly inspiring materials.
