Curating Uncertainty: North Korea to Climate Change | A Lecture by Professor Hyungmin Pai
Dean's Office
The Office of the Dean of Faculty, in partnership with the departments of Art History, Theory, and Criticism and Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Historic Preservation, and with support from The Korea Foundation is pleased to invite the SAIC community to a lecture by Professor Hyungmin Pai, a distinguished architectural historian, critic, and curator, on Wednesday, November 12.
Professor Pai's lecture will delve into the transformative power of curating through two of his recent visionary projects: Crow's Eye View: The Korean Peninsula, which boldly explored the architecture of both North and South Korea at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale, and Re:Folly, a groundbreaking pavilion project focused on sustainable building in the face of climate change. Highlighting the unconventional collaborations and experimental processes behind these exhibitions, Professor Pai will reveal how curatorial work can spark radical connections and innovative solutions to some of the world’s most complex challenges, particularly the urgent realities of climate change.
The lecture will be followed by an audience Q & A, and we encourage all who are able to join us for what promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking event. As always, persons with disabilities requesting accommodations should visit saic.edu/access.
