Dorothy Burge and Dr. Sharbreon Plummer will join forces for a timely conversation about the role that textiles play in advancing social justice and capturing difficult histories. Their conversation will discuss the legacy of quilts in Black history, Burge's own work as an artist and activist, and the importance of her two newest works commissioned for On Loss and Absence: Textiles of Mourning and Survival.

In conjunction with On Loss and Absence: Textiles of Mourning and Survival which is on view at the Art Institute of Chicago from September 6, 2025 - March 15, 2026.
