The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is pleased to offer our Early College Program Online program in a winter intensive format this January. Taught by our SAIC school faculty in English alongside Korean teaching assistants, these two-week intensive courses are designed to educate, engage, and inspire secondary school students who are passionate about art and design in the 21st century.
You’ll join classmates to create portfolio-quality work, deepen your understanding of contemporary art making, and earn college credit. Experience dynamic virtual demos, engage in group critiques, and receive the ideal blend of robust, one-on-one meeting time with faculty and independent exploration.

Ideas Matter
Through the Early College Program Online Winter Intensive program, you will be empowered to bring your ideas to life, whatever form they may take. You will have the freedom to work in multiple media: you can incorporate text into paintings, combine performance and sculpture, or cross boundaries from sound to architecture. The possibilities are truly limitless, and you will leave our program a more confident maker with innovative, portfolio-quality work.

The Critique
Because contemporary makers and scholars need to experiment, be bold and take risks, work done in the Early College Program Online Winter Intensive is evaluated by critique, rather than traditional grading models. During the critique, you will discuss your ideas and processes, and engage in a dialogue with your instructors and classmates.
