If you are a new student enrolled in a degree program, you can avoid long lines at the beginning of the semester by submitting your photo in advance. You must present a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID or passport to pick up your ARTICard.
Express Registration for First Year Undergraduate, Graduate, and Transfer Students
As a new student to SAIC, you can now take advantage of our online photo submission option. The ARTICard Office has created an easy, convenient process for you to do this.
Submit your photo TODAY! Check your SAIC email for a personalized link to submit your photo. The fall email will be sent in mid July and the spring email will be sent in mid December.
The online photo submission application is designed to greatly speed up the process by which new ARTICards are created. Applicants will encounter an easy self-edit process that will ensure that we are able to load your best ID picture onto the ARTICard in advance of your arrival on campus.
Prior to submitting a photo, be sure to read the instructions and photo guidelines carefully. Photos that do not meet the specified criteria may be rejected, and you will be required to restart the process. Upon approval of your submitted photo (and 1-2 business days for processing), you can make an appointment to pick up your shiny new ARTICard!
Students must make an appointment to pick up your ARTICard and U-Pass in the ARTICard office.
Students living in the 162 North State Street Residences or Jones Hall do not need to make an appointment. You will receive your ARTICard and U-Pass when you check in at the residence hall during your scheduled move-in date.
Online Photo Submission Deadlines: You must submit your photo online no later than:
- August 8 for Fall Semester
- January 3 for Spring Semester
Failure to upload your photo online prior to the aforementioned deadlines will require you to have your photo taken in the ARTICard Office (a mirror-free environment with unflattering lighting) upon your arrival to campus on what is sure to be a windy and/or humid day.
