Personal Statement
Jason Lazarus (born 1975) is an artist, curator, educator, and writer. Working at the intersection of expanded photography and community engagement, Lazarus' work seeks experiential forms and methods to grapple with the politics of representation.
Current Interests
Protest signs, vernacular photography, LED lights, political arcs, animated GIFS, lives and objects at the margins of history, independent storefronts, inkjet technology, Hito Steyerl, Hakim Bey, Rebecca Solnit, Anne Boyer, the concept of monumentality, new forms of exchange, the classroom
