Bio

Gyae Kim (b. Seoul, S. Korea) is a visual artist living and working in Chicago, IL. As a watcher and a transmitter, Gyae interacts with images from virtual and actual reality to remake a noise of visual culture. Her recent exhibitions include Exit Counseling at The Green Gallery, Milwaukee, WI, 2022; Foundation at Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, Wheeling, IL, 2022; In Even the Oldest Utopia There is a Song Too Short to Sing at UGLY gallery, Chicago, IL, 2020;Time Stamp at Parlour and Ramp, Chicago, IL, 2020; Zentangle Disco at Patient Info, Chicago, IL, 2019 and more. Gyae holds a BFA and MFA from School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
