Assistant Professor Anna Martine Whitehead and alum Genevieve Erin O’Brien (MFA 2008) were announced as grant recipients of the 2021 MAP Fund. The MAP Fund, established in 1988, supports “original live performance projects that embody a spirit of deep inquiry, particularly those that question, disrupt, and complicate notions of social and cultural hierarchies.” Each grantee will receive $20,000 in project development funds and $5,000 in general operating funds. Whitehead received the grant for Force! an opera in three acts and O’Brien received the funds for EZ Bake.
