Douglas Pancoast, Associate Professor of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects (AIADO), helped coordinate the installation of eight 3,000- to 9,000-pound limestones in Millennium Park for a project called Rock. It is intended that viewers decorate the huge stones, which are arranged in a circle by the north entrance of Cloud Gate. DNAinfo quotes Pancoast saying, "People in exterior environments interact with materials, that's how it goes." The stones will be incorporated into the future lakefront kiosk on Montrose Beach. The project is a collaboration between Amsterdam-based architect Kunlé Adeyemi and SAIC as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
