Professor Michelle Grabner was recently featured in New York Times Style Magazine. The article covers 12 unique art programs across the globe, including Grabner’s program, the Poor Farm. Based in rural Wisconsin, the Poor Farm is run by Grabner and her husband, Brad Killam. The center hosts exhibitions, houses a publishing imprint, brews its own beer, and features 16 beds that allow the space to host a residency called Living Within the Play. Every program “has different limitations,” Grabner shared, “but it’s a broad and beautiful playing field.” This summer, the residency will have a base at the International Center for the Arts in Monte Castello di Vibio, Italy.
