The SAIC Ballroom, the heart of the former Illinois Athletic Club building, has won numerous awards for architectural excellence. Its 26-foot ceilings, marbleized columns, and terrazzo dance floor will dazzle your guests, while theatrical lighting, a raised performance stage, and a versatile audiovisual system bring your event to life.
The SAIC Ballroom is located at 112 South Michigan Avenue, within walking distance of many hotels, theaters, and parking garages.

Siskel Film Center
Located in the heart of Chicago's bustling theater district, the Siskel Film Center is the Loop's contemporary alternative for business meetings and special events. With two state-of-the-art movie theaters with capacities of 193 and 60 people and a sunlight-filled gallery/café overlooking State Street, the Siskel Film Center provides a sophisticated yet comfortable setting for corporate events, luncheons, presentations, screenings, and private receptions.

For the safety of our guests, we do not allow standing room or sitting on the floors if an event exceeds the listed capacity.

The Gene Siskel Film Center serves wine, beer, water, soda, and other basic movie theater concessions. We do allow outside food or beverages to be brought onsite with prior approval, but it cannot be anything equivalent to items that the Siskel Film Center already provides. Outside alcohol is not permitted.
While clients may also use any licensed and insured caterer for their food needs, the preferred caterer for events with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago is HandCut Foods. Clients may reach out to Catering Manager Michelle Chamberlain at michelle.chamberlain@compass-usa.com for menus and pricing. If an outside caterer is used, a copy of the caterer’s valid City of Chicago catering license will be required.
