Cheryl Pope Talks Contemporary Art to Kenyon College Students

SAIC faculty in the Fashion Design program, Cheryl Pope (BFA 2003, MDes 2010) received a Mellon Fellowship from Gund Gallery at Kenyon College in order to host her new project Community is Built on Empathy. In collaboration with students at Kenyon College, Pope gathered a number of statements from students, which were then made into banners and hung along the walls of the school’s athletic center.

SAIC Named a Top Producer of U.S. Fulbright Students

CHICAGO–The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs recently recognized the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) as one of two specialized institutions in the nation with the most U.S. Fulbright students. Two SAIC students received Fulbright awards for 2016–17, and since 2002, 34 students have represented SAIC as U.S. student Fulbright fellows. SAIC joins the University of Chicago and Northwestern University as the only Illinois colleges to be included on the list.
