This lecture series describes the work of artists and designers who explore the denseness of space, time, networks, text, and material in their projects. Notions of ThickSpace, ThickWare, ThickThought, ThickProduction, and ThickPractice will be explored. Co-presented by SAIC’s Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects; Art and Technology Studies; Film, Video and New Media; and Visual Communication Design Departments. For more than 155 years, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has been a leader in educating the world’s most influential artists, designers, and scholars.
