Korina Hernandez is a queer Latinx artist and creative technologist based in Chicago. Hernandez works to reimagine exhibition practices within traditional art institutions that historically neglect marginalized and non-Western societies to honor their cultural heritage.
Reflecting on the limits of technology and how it distorts perception, her multimedia studio practice includes image making, frequently combined with XR and creative coding to create experiential collages. Always experimenting with the limits of her work, Korina is interested in relationships generated between physical, tactile objects, and digital technologies, the transience of mediums, and democratizing art access through XR tech.
