My practice is informed by a personal interest in spirituality (both fraught and endearingly sincere) as well as meaning and language inherent to amorphous shapes. When I say amorphous I specifically refer to the concept of ectoplasm - a psychic goo. Ectoplasm has been a constant investigation of my practice, I am interested in its ability to contain meaning despite its fleeting, mythical nature. The creation of marks and forms in the work is “my” ectoplasm. Through painting and weaving I am attempting to excavate and create my own version of the goo.
