Personal Statement
Meredith's work on the rise of the new middle class in urban India has been published in volumes by Wiley-Blackwell and Routledge. Her research was supported by the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship. She has also held the Jacob K. Javits fellowship, the Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Humanistic Studies, and grants from the American Institute of Indian Studies and the Foreign Language Area Studies program. She specializes in issues related to public and popular culture, globalization, and bodily and spatial practice.
