Personal Statement
I am engaged with issues of art making and children's culture, particularly the influence of peers and popular culture on children's lives and learning. A Professor Emerita at Penn State University, and one-time faculty member at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I now live in Chicago where I continue to write and hope to resume earlier research projects with immigrant and refugee children and youth.
