Stephanie and Bill Sick Professor of Fashion, Body and Garment Professor Nick Cave’s video work, “Ba Boom Boom Pa Pop Pop,” will be projected as part of Art on theMART [15] through September 7, in conjunction with his first career-spanning retrospective, Forothermore, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

Lecturer Sophie Lucido Johnson’s new graphic memoir, Dear Sophie, Love Sophie [16], came out with HarperCollins.

Associate Professor, Adj. Marlena Novak’s art collaboration, localStyle, will present the audio-visual installation Choral through June 29 as part of Art on theMART [15]. The project also involved SAIC alums and former students Malu Ayers, Max Crider (BFA 2018), Nathaniel Gillette (BFA 2018), Mak Hepler-Gonzalez, and Snow Shinuo Xu (BFA 2019). 

Assistant Professor, Adj. Asha Iman Veal was in conversation with artist Sunil Gupta [17]as part of the Beautiful Diaspora / You Are Not the Lesser Part [18] exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, which Veal organized as associate curator at the museum.

Professor Lisa Wainwright is a featured speaker at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons 2022 conference [19] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

Associate Professor Mechtild Widrich is the recipient of a 2022-23 faculty fellowship [20] at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study under the theme "The Public." On May 13, she will speak in Vienna on a panel she organized entitled "Monumental Cares."
