The New York Times has spotlighted She Persists: A Century of Women Artists in New York, an installation in the public spaces of New York’s Gracie Mansion, residence of the city's mayor. Forty-four artists and collectives that have significant ties to New York city were chosen to participate, and SAIC alum Kaveri Raina (MFA 2016) was one of them. Produced by the city’s first lady Chirlane McCray, She Persists focuses on exclusively female and women-identified creators to show in the traditionally male-dominated space. McCray told the New York Times “People who would not be invited here had their images up on the walls. I love that.” Read more about the installation online.
