Among the nine local artists in The Chicago Sound Show at the University of Chicago, five have direct ties to the SAIC Sound Department: Assistant Professor Lou Mallozzi (BFA 1978), faculty members Olivia Block and Walter Kitundu, former lecturer Katherine Young, and alumn Andy Slater (BFA 2015). The Chicago Sound Show is a three-month exhibition of outdoor sound installations throughout the U of C campus, commissioned by the Smart Museum of Art and curated by Laura Steward and Sam Pluta. Open every day to the public, free of charge, through December 29.
