Hyperallergic sat down with SAIC alum Rebecca Morris (MFA 1994) for a beer recently to discuss her career and work. Morris, who participated int he 2014 Whitney Biennial, spoke of her love for art musuems from childhood and her fascination with Yale architecture as early inspirations. She also spoke of the turning point in her paintings when she started experimenting with abstract paintings during graduate school at SAIC, and "exploring the language of painting without paint—a foray into thinking about placement and formalism."
