SAIC's Goldabelle McComb Finn Distinguished Professor of Art History David Getsy received a senior fellowship from the Dedalus Foundation for his project Queer Behavior: Scott Burton’s Postminimalism and Performance in the 1970s. The Fellowship carries a stipend of $30,000.
The fellowship recognizes writers and scholars who have demonstrated their abilities through previous accomplishments and who are not currently matriculated for academic degrees. Getsy’s project examines artist-critic Scott Burton’s work during the 1980s, in which he interrogated the power dynamics of interpersonal behavior and prioritized issues of non-verbal communication, camouflage, and cruising.
