Alum Martine Syms (BFA 2007) is exhibiting work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. The solo show, titled Martine Syms: She Mad Season One, features five video artworks within an immersive sculptural installation. Syms’s work draws from a variety of sources including early cinema, television shows, advertisements, and internet memes. The exhibition includes the fifth and newest episode of She Mad, an ongoing semi-autobiographical sitcom following a young woman trying to make it as an artist in Los Angeles. Martine Syms: She Mad Season One is on view in the Bergman Family Gallery at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago through February 12, 2023.
