SAIC faculty member Rachel Weiss (Arts Administration and Policy) was recently quoted in the New York Times in an article discussing Cuban-American artistic exchange in dance, music, and art. The article calls to attention “the cultural cross-pollination that has flowered in recent years despite bureaucratic hurdles,” and speaks of a hopeful horizon for creative exchange and collaboration, following recent strides in a recovery of relations with Cuba.
Weiss has devoted more than 30 years of in-depth research to Cuban Art. She shares her thoughts on the future of Cuban-American influence and what that might mean for art institutions in the United States.
