Candida Alvarez, professor in the Painting and Drawing department is profiled on Luxe Magazine. In the article, Alvarez discusses how her use of light is dictated by her geographic location: “I notice light wherever I go, so my palette changes...Although it doesn’t even have to be where I am geographically, but rather where my eyes, my head and my heart are at that moment.”
In 2017, Alvarez received a major exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center and her works were used for a Comme des Garçons menswear collection.
