This month, Art in America has SAIC’s Interim Dean of Graduate Studies David Getsy in its “sightlines” section. Getsy is highlighted because of the release of his new book, Abstract Bodies, of which the publication says “should be required reading for anyone looking at and thinking about contemporary sculpture.” Art in America calls Getsy a “key voice among a new generation of art historians—along with Darby English, Julia Bryan-Wilson, and others—who are opening up art and its archives in critical interdisciplinary ways.” Pick up a February issue of Art in America to read more.
